1. General information
Elective subject (S1) in which the transversality applied to the study and understanding of the prehistoric and historic periods prevails. Methodological approaches, procedures and techniques applied to analyse and understand the vestiges of the past that can be studied with the archaeological method, considering them as historical sources. It is advisable to know and use basic computer resources, such as a word processor and databases.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations (2030 Agenda (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/).

2. Learning results
Knows the interpretations and historiographic currents related to the world of research and study of Prehistory and Archaeology
Organizes and critically interprets complex prehistoric and archaeological information in a coherent manner and interprets it in a reasoned way
Knows and applies the working methods and techniques used in scientific research and in the professional practice in Prehistory and Archaeology.
Critically understands archaeological information, taking into account that archaeological and prehistoric debate and research are in constant renewal.

Develops sensitivity to the past with respect to the sources for its knowledge and the social importance of the historical-cultural heritage

4. Academic activities
Theoretical and practical classes and seminars, individual and group work. In accordance with the number of hours assigned to the subject, the lectures given by the teacher and the practical classes carried out with the didactic collections of the Department of Antiquity Sciences will have special relevance. These activities will be complemented by external practices at archaeological sites and museums, as well as lectures and seminars related to the content of the program..
5. Assessment system
First Call.
a) Continuous assessment system
1) Practical exercises and seminars: after explanation of their characteristics, they will be carried out throughout the term. Clarity, critical capacity, bibliographic use and the correctness of the relevant technical resources will be valued. The participation in seminars and debates organized to complete the academic training will be taken into account . 80% of the grade.
2) Work: production of a dossier that collects the work done throughout the term. The assessment will consider formal correctness, clarity, order, coherence and originality in the approach, as well as personal contributions and/or criticisms derived from the work or bibliographic knowledge. Its written form must be correct. 20% of the grade. 3) Written test: exceptionally, as an alternative and/or complement to the resolution of the practical exercises or the production of the work, a written test will be carried out to demonstrate the knowledge of the contents developed in the syllabus. Clarity, coherence and originality will be valued; critical contributions derived from knowledge of the bibliography will also be considered.
b) Global assessment test (on the date established in the academic calendar)
Performance of a written test on the content of the syllabus of one of the aspects worked on during the term. The understanding and adequate explanation of the answers, as well as their clarity, coherence and originality, will be valued, as well as the critical contributions derived from the knowledge of the bibliography. The written form must be correct. 100% of the grade.
